About the Authors and Illustrator of

Co-author Diane Domiteaux is currently a fifth grade teacher with the Washoe County School District in Spanish Springs, Nevada. A passion for history, reading and teaching led Diane Domiteaux to co-author Washoe Season’s of Life: A Native American Story. She lives in Sparks, Nevada with her husband and two sons. She received her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fresno and her Master’s degree in Education from University of Nevada, Reno. Diane enjoys singing, camping, skiing, reading and scrapbooking.
Co-author Karen Wallis serves as principal of Mt. Rose Elementary in the Washoe County School District in Reno, Nevada. The love of literature, children and history was the inspiration to co-write Washoe Seasons of Life. She has been active in the field of education as a parent, social worker, teacher and principal. Karen lives in Reno, Nevada, with her family. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She enjoys flower gardening, camping, skiing and reading.
Illustrator Lea Saling is a secretary with the Washoe County School District in Sparks, Nevada. She is a native of Nevada. She enjoys hunting, fishing and gardening. Her passion for painting, though, is one she has enjoyed for years. People, landscapes, animals and her love of the Native American culture inspired her acceptance when asked to illustrate this book
